Tonya Giles was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Thelma Thomas and Louis David Thomas. She is the mother of two children. After graduating from Capitol Senior High School, she began a modeling career for J.C. Penney and Irving Mall in Irving, Texas. She refused an offer from Faces International Modeling and Talent Agency out of loyalty to a friend.
Two years later Tonya returned to her hometown of Baton Rouge and continued to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. “I got my first real job at Saturn of Baton Rouge. I was hired as the receptionist and two weeks later got a promotion to Administrative Assistant.” While working as Administrative Assistant, she continued to make commercials and infomercials for local companies, as well as appearing in the Oscar-winning movie, Ray.
Tonya realized that she loved working behind the scenes more than being on the big screen. With that in mind, Tonya has started a conglomerate of businesses. Her primary business is DotCom Artists, A Multimedia Company. She also produces Baton Rouge Underground Radio Show, heard here on KCPI, and publishes Baton Rouge Underground Magazine and Savor Louisiana, Louisiana’s first premiere lifestyle & entertainment magazine which is the basis of a new venture, Savor Louisiana TV Show.
